Individual Giving

Opera Southwest prides itself on being entertaining and economical. However, as ticket sales cover only 50% of opera production costs, our annual budget requires monetary gifts from individuals who are passionate for the arts and opera in Albuquerque. We welcome and appreciate donations from individuals in any amount. Individual donations are tax deductible and are recognized in our program by name unless you specify that you wish to remain anonymous. We strive to produce outstanding opera on a budget that makes sense for Albuquerque, and greatly value our donors’ support! Please mail your donations to Opera Southwest, P.O. Corporate Giving

Opera Southwest performs for all of Central New Mexico, and we are an outstanding forum in which to promote your business. Sponsorship levels range from $1,000-$20,000 and each level comes with a variety of benefits, including complimentary tickets and advertisements in the season program. Tributes Program

With a minimum donation of $20.00, Opera Southwest will send a card to a designated honoree stating that you have made a contribution in their honor or in memory of a loved one. Leave a Legacy / Include Opera Southwest in Your Will

You don’t have to be a great opera singer or composer to leave an indelible mark on history. You can create a permanent, meaningful artistic legacy that is just as powerful.

Opera Southwest’s Encore Society honors those individuals and families who have made or intend to make a gift to the endowment fund of Opera Southwest through their will or estate plans, assuring OSW’s promise of outstanding Opera for our community for many years to come. Membership in the Encore Society provides you with a unique opportunity to create a lasting legacy that will provide exceptional opera and education and outreach programs for our community.

You can include a bequest to Opera Southwest by adding a codicil — a simple, one-page amendment—which does not require changing anything in your existing will.

A bequest can be made in three different ways:

• A specific dollar amount.
• A percentage of your estate.
• The residual (or a percentage of the residual) of your estate, what is left over after you have provided for your other obligations and your family/friends.

You can also make a planned gift to the opera of appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares. These types of gifts can not only provide you with a charitable gift tax deduction, but can also help you avoid capital gains and estate taxes.
